Employee advocacy,
without the enterprise contract

Your team's combined following is bigger than your brand page, and it is the audience that actually trusts them. Offer a post to your team and each colleague adds it to their own queue, in one press, to publish from their own account.

Content Drifter has employee advocacy built into the calendar: switch "Offer to team" on for a post and every colleague with a seat sees it under Team Advocacy, where one press copies it into their own queue to publish from their own accounts. It is opt-in per post and never auto-publishes, so the copy lands as a draft the colleague reviews first. Included with team seats on Pro and Agency at no extra charge.

One switch on the post you already wrote

Advocacy here is not a second product with its own library and its own import step. It is a toggle in the calendar editor, next to auto-publish: flip Offer to team and that post appears under Team Advocacy for everyone holding a seat.

The switch is per post and it is off by default. Programmes that enrol everything are how a company ends up having endorsed something nobody chose to put their name on.

It publishes from their account, not yours

Taking a post makes a copy owned by that colleague, on the accounts they connected. Everything the product already does then applies to it unchanged: their schedule, their queue slots, their character limits, their first comment, their signature.

That is the entire point. A share from the brand page reaches the people who already follow the brand. A share from a colleague reaches the people who follow them, which is a different, larger, and considerably more persuadable audience.

Nothing posts to a personal account by itself

Pressing the button does not publish. The copy lands as an unreviewed draft in that colleague’s queue, and Content Drifter’s publisher only sends posts a human has approved, so the post waits for its owner.

This is the part most advocacy tools get wrong by design. The moment an employee feels their account is being used as a distribution channel, the programme is over, whatever the dashboard says. Consent has to be a step, not a checkbox in an onboarding email.

A starting point, not a broadcast

The copy opens in the full editor, so a colleague can rewrite it in their own voice, move it to a better slot, add an image, or delete it. Posts that read like they were pasted from a company memo do not perform, and the people forwarding them know it.

The list is what is left for you

Each person can take a given post once, and it disappears from their list the moment they do, so nobody re-shares the same thing twice or scrolls a feed of posts they have already handled. Withdrawing an offer stops new copies; it does not reach into anybody’s calendar and delete the post they already made theirs.

Included with team seats

Employee advocacy is normally sold as its own platform, per seat, on an annual contract, to companies large enough to have a communications department. Here it comes with the team seats you already have on Pro and Agency: no advocacy licence, no per-advocate fee, no minimum.

If you already run approvals on your team, the two fit together: a post gets released internally, then gets offered around.

Free and Starter carry zero seats, so advocacy starts at Pro. Every seat draws on the workspace owner’s generation pool rather than carrying its own, which is worth knowing before you add the third person.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is employee advocacy software?

A tool that lets a company offer its posts to employees so they can share them from their own social accounts, where the reach is their own network rather than the brand page. Most of the category is sold to enterprises. In Content Drifter it is part of team seats on Pro and Agency.

Does it post to an employee’s account automatically?

No, and that is deliberate. Sharing copies the post into that person’s own queue as an unreviewed draft. The publisher only sends posts a human has approved, so nothing reaches a personal account without its owner reading it first.

Is every post offered to the team?

No. It is a per-post switch that is off by default, so a team cannot end up having endorsed something nobody chose. Turning it off later does not recall copies colleagues already took, because those are their posts now.

What does the employee actually get?

A copy in their own calendar, on their own connected accounts, with the full editor: they can rewrite it in their own voice, change the schedule, add a first comment, or delete it. It is a starting point, not a broadcast.

Which plans include employee advocacy?

It comes with team seats, so Pro and Agency. There is no separate advocacy licence or per-seat advocacy fee: if a colleague has a seat, they have the Team Advocacy tab.

How is this different from just sending the team a link?

A link asks each person to copy text, open their own app, paste, and pick a time, which is exactly the friction that makes advocacy programmes die. Here the post is already in their queue on their own accounts, scheduled, one review away from going out.
