How do I install the Content Drifter app?
Open Content Drifter in your browser and follow the steps above for your device: Add to Home Screen in Safari on iPhone and iPad, Install when Chrome, Edge or Samsung Internet offers it on Android, the install icon in the address bar of Chrome or Edge on Windows, Mac and Linux, or Add to Dock from the File menu in Safari 17 or newer on a Mac.
Does the Content Drifter app cost anything?
No. Installing is free on every plan, including Free, and it needs no app store account. Nothing is downloaded from an app store.
Is the installed app different from the website?
It is the same Content Drifter, opened in its own window without the address bar and tabs. Your account, posts and calendar are the same in both, so anything you schedule in one shows up in the other.
Do I need an account before I install it?
No, you can install it first. The app opens on your dashboard, so without an account it asks you to sign in on first launch.
Do scheduled posts still publish if the app is closed or my phone is offline?
Yes. Scheduled posts are published from our servers, not from your device, so closing the app or losing your connection does not stop them. While you are offline the app shows a plain offline message instead of a browser error.
Which browsers can install it?
Safari on iPhone and iPad, Chrome, Edge and Samsung Internet on Android, Chrome and Edge on Windows, Mac and Linux, and Safari 17 or newer on a Mac. Safari on iPhone has no install button, so it is the one place the steps have to be done by hand.
What shortcuts does the installed app add?
Press and hold the icon to jump straight to Post Studio, the Content Calendar or the Inbox without opening the dashboard first.
How do I update the installed app?
You do not have to. The installed app is the Content Drifter website itself, so each change we ship reaches you the next time you open the app.
