What changes once it is installed

Full screen, no browser bar

The address bar, tabs and browser chrome all disappear. On a phone that is roughly an extra inch of calendar.

Opens on your dashboard

The icon launches straight into your workspace rather than the marketing homepage, and you stay signed in between launches.

Long-press shortcuts

Hold the icon for Make Post, Content Calendar and Inbox without loading the dashboard first.

An honest offline screen

No connection gets you a plain "you are offline" page instead of a browser error. Anything already scheduled still publishes: that happens on our servers, not your device.

iPhone and iPad

Safari
  1. Tap the Share button (the square with an arrow).
  2. Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
  3. Tap Add.

Safari has no install button, so this is the one place it has to be done by hand. On iPhone the Share button is at the bottom of the screen; on iPad it is in the top toolbar.

Android

Chrome, Edge, Samsung Internet
  1. Tap Install when Content Drifter offers it.
  2. No prompt? Open the browser menu (three dots).
  3. Tap Add to Home screen, then Install.

Windows, Mac and Linux

Chrome, Edge
  1. Click the install icon at the right of the address bar.
  2. No icon? Open the browser menu and choose Install Content Drifter.
  3. Confirm with Install.

Recent Chrome versions list it under "Cast, save and share". Edge lists it under "Apps".

Mac

Safari 17+
  1. Open the File menu.
  2. Choose Add to Dock.
  3. Click Add.

Add to Dock needs Safari 17 or newer (macOS Sonoma). On an older Safari, Chrome or Edge can install it instead.

Do I need an account first?

You can install it either way, but the app opens on your dashboard, so without an account it will ask you to sign in on first launch. Installing is free and works on every plan.
