Free social media scheduler with auto-publishing

Content Drifter's Free plan is a free social media scheduler that publishes for you: schedule up to 2 posts a day and each one goes out on its own at the time you set. It connects all 9 networks and publishes to 7 of them, with 10 publishes a month once its weekly ramp finishes, and signing up asks for no card.

What the Free plan cannot do

Said up front, so you do not find out after you have connected everything. Each line is read from the gate the product enforces.

  • Publish video

TikTok and YouTube take video, which starts on Lite. Free connects both and writes their captions; sending a video starts on Lite.

  • A time chosen for each post

AI Smart Scheduling suggests a time per post on Lite and up. Free uses the table behind Best time for me.

  • Overnight Auto-Pilot

Auto-Pilot reshuffles your week into stronger slots overnight, on Pro and up.

  • The analytics tab

Analytics is on Lite and up, so Free cannot read results back into the schedule.

  • Google or Outlook calendar sync

Calendar sync is on Pro and up.

  • More than one brand, or teammates

Free has 1 workspace and 0 team seats.

  • Keep uploads for good

Uploaded files are kept while a draft or scheduled post uses them, then 7 days after that post is published.

How to schedule your first post on the Free plan

Five steps, about ten minutes. For what happens after you press Schedule, see how publishing works.

  1. 1

    Sign up with no card

Create an account with an email address. Every new account starts with 3 days free of the paid features, and moves to Free afterwards unless you subscribe. Everything you made stays.

  2. 2

    Connect your accounts

Every network connects on every plan, Free included. Each network has a short guide in the Help Center, with what you need first.

  3. 3

Write a post, or ask for a draft

Open Post Studio. Write the post yourself, or ask for a draft with AI help and edit it until it sounds like you. Add the picture or video the network needs.

  4. 4

    Pick when it goes out

Under When to publish choose Best time for me, In 1 hour or Pick date and time. The picker does not offer a day that has passed.

  5. 5

    Press Schedule

The post sits on the calendar with its time and goes out on its own. Until then you can edit it, move it or delete it.

Free social media schedulers compared

What each tool's own pricing page says about a free option, read on October 14, 2026. The numbers are theirs and the words are ours. Free plans count their limits in different units, so the third column says how each one counts before you compare a 10 with a 15.

A tool whose page lists no free plan is shown as trial only. That describes the page, not the product, and vendors change plans often, so open the linked page before you decide.

Which free plan fits

  • Count what you actually post. Buffer counts scheduled posts per channel at one time, Publer counts them per account, Metricool and Pallyy count scheduled posts per month, and ours counts publishes per month. A post to two networks is two publishes here, so 10 publishes is 5 posts to two networks.
  • Decide what else you need in the same place. Our Free plan also drafts posts in your voice (8 a month), designs images (8 a month) and gives you a link in bio page. Read the other pages for what they bundle before you compare.
  • Check the network, not just the tool. Metricool's free plan leaves out LinkedIn and Twitter, and Publer's leaves out X, per their pages. Ours connects every network and publishes to 7 of 9.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a free social media scheduler that publishes for you?

Yes. The Content Drifter Free plan connects your accounts, schedules up to 2 posts a day and publishes each one at its time, with no card and no end date. Free publishes to 7 of 9 networks; TikTok and YouTube take video, which starts on Lite.

What are the limits of the Free plan?

8 post drafts, 8 image designs and 10 publishes a month, up to 2 scheduled posts a day, 50 calendar posts a month and 1 workspace. A new account starts at 2 post drafts, 2 image designs and 4 publishes in week one and unlocks 2 more of each every week.

Does the Free plan expire or ask for a card?

No. It is a plan, not a trial: signing up asks for no card and the plan has no end date. Every new account first gets 3 days free of the paid features, then moves to Free unless it subscribes, and keeps everything it made.

Which networks can the Free plan schedule to?

Every network connects on every plan, Free included. Free publishes to 7 of 9 networks; TikTok and YouTube take video, which starts on Lite.

Can I schedule TikTok or YouTube posts on the Free plan?

You can connect both on Free and write their captions, but publishing there needs a video. TikTok and YouTube take video, which starts on Lite.

How does Content Drifter's free plan compare with Buffer, Metricool and Publer?

Each vendor's own pricing page, read on October 14, 2026, says: Buffer's free plan has 3 channels with 10 scheduled posts per channel, Metricool's has 1 brand with up to 20 scheduled posts per month, and Publer's has 3 social accounts with 10 scheduled posts per account. The three count their limits differently, per channel, per month and per account, so read the "how the limit is counted" column on this page before you compare the numbers.

What happens when I reach a limit on the Free plan?

Adding a post to a day that already holds 2 is refused with a message that names the day, so you pick another. When the month's publishes are used, a scheduled post is held with its time and the message names the day the next batch unlocks. Nothing is deleted.

Can I upgrade later without losing my schedule?

Yes. Paid plans raise the numbers and add features such as AI Smart Scheduling and Auto-Pilot. Your calendar, your Brand Kit and your connected accounts stay as they are.
