What stops a scheduled Bluesky post before it goes out
On Bluesky the usual one is copy that fits your screen and not the 300-character limit. We check these when you schedule rather than when the clock runs out, so a post that Bluesky would reject fails while you are still looking at it instead of at 8am on a Tuesday.
Text alone is fine
Bluesky accepts a text-only post, so nothing is blocked for missing media. Attachments are checked against JPEG, PNG and WEBP when present.
Length
Validated against 300 characters before the post is accepted, not after. Over the line, we trim at the nearest sentence boundary rather than mid-word.
Hashtags
More than 5 tags on one Bluesky post is rejected by the queue. The cap is the network's, the refusal is ours.
A publish that stalls after passing these is reconciled against the network rather than retried. On 24 August 2026 we checked every wedged row in our own database: five of six had already gone out, with a timestamp the network itself had recorded.
