Publishing, scheduling, and growth guides by platform
Deep dives for each network: auto-publish, Gold Slot scheduling, and closed-loop growth. Pick your platform; everything else stays in one dashboard.
What we stop before the network does
These are the 41 limits our own validator checks a post against before it leaves the composer, which is why a post that would be rejected fails here, with the reason, rather than at a network's API an hour after you scheduled it. They run from 280 characters on X (Twitter) to 63,206 on Facebook, a spread of 226x, which is the whole reason one draft cannot go to nine networks unedited.
| Network | Characters | Hashtags | Images | Video | Media required |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2,200 | 30 | 10 | 15 min | Yes | |
| TikTok | 2,200 | 5 | video only | 10 min | Yes |
| X (Twitter) | 280 | 5 | 4 | 2m 20s | No |
| 63,206 | 10 | 10 | 20 min | No | |
| 3,000 | 5 | 20 | 30 min | No | |
| Threads | 500 | 5 | 20 | 5 min | No |
| YouTube | 5,000 | 15 | video only | 12h | Yes |
| 800 | 5 | 1 | 15 min | Yes | |
| Bluesky | 300 graphemes | 5 | 4 | 1 min | No |
A post with no image or video is refused outright on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest. Threads (5) is the one network where we also cap how many distinct URLs the body can carry. Bluesky counts graphemes rather than characters, so an emoji costs one, not four.
What this table is not: a mirror of every rule each network applies. It is the set we check first, and a network can tighten a limit without announcing it. When one of ours turns out to be wrong, the publish attempt still fails and the error comes back to the post, rather than the post being marked sent.
Four of those limits are not the documented ones. We wrote up which four and why they fail after the post looks fine.
Native posts, not one caption pasted nine times
Each network has its own caption limit, aspect ratio and link rules. Connect once and the same idea ships as a proper post on each one, so nothing arrives truncated or letterboxed.
Posted when that network is actually awake
Peak windows differ per platform and per audience. Gold Slots pick them from your own engagement history rather than a generic best-time chart, and the queue holds the cadence without you setting alarms.
What each algorithm actually rewards, with the numbers
The ranking weights, the first-hour cliff, the reach cost of a link in the body and an hour-by-hour view of when each network is worth posting to. Rendered from the same record the publishing engine reads, so the page cannot claim something the product does not do.
Every post teaches the next one
Published posts report their real engagement back into the engine, per platform. What works on LinkedIn shapes the next LinkedIn post rather than being copied onto TikTok where it would not land.
Nine networks, one workspace
Connect the networks you actually use, generate a batch in your own voice, and let the queue place it. Free to start, no card.
Frequently asked questions
Which social platforms does Content Drifter support?
Instagram, TikTok, X, LinkedIn, Facebook, Threads, YouTube, Pinterest and Bluesky, all through native OAuth publishing rather than reminders. Platform access is not a paid axis: the free plan connects all nine.
Does Content Drifter support Bluesky and Threads?
Yes, both natively and on every plan. That is less common than it sounds: as of August 2026 several major tools including FeedHive, Predis.ai and Flick had no Bluesky publishing at all.
Which platforms does Content Drifter not support?
Google Business Profile, Mastodon, Reddit and Discord are not supported today. If any of those is central to your posting, tools like Metricool, Vista Social or ContentStudio cover them and we would rather say so up front.
Is content adapted per platform or cross-posted?
Adapted. The same idea is rewritten for each network with its own hook style, length and formatting, because identical text posted everywhere is deprioritised by essentially every feed algorithm. Per-platform validation runs before anything publishes.
