The AI Video Maker turns a post you already made, your photos, your words, its carousel or its design, into a vertical video with captions and your Brand Kit. The video is made in your browser, checked before it is attached, and published to the eight networks that take video. It is on Lite ($15/mo) and every plan above it.

What does the AI Video Maker do?

Most posts already hold everything a video needs: the words, a photo or a deck of slides, your colours and your logo. The AI Video Maker puts them on screen with motion, so the same post can go to the networks that want video, such as Instagram Reels, TikTok and YouTube Shorts, instead of being rebuilt in a separate editor.

It has a screen of its own in your dashboard, Video, right after Image Generator. Start from your words, a post you have drafted or scheduled, or your pictures, pick a style, look at the preview, and the video is made and saved in My Content, ready to download or use in a post. The same editor opens from any post in AI Post Maker, and there the video is added to that post. Change the post's words or its Brand Kit later and the post tells you the video no longer matches, so a stale video does not go out by accident.

What you can make a video from

  • The post's words. A post with no image becomes a video led by its text, as a headline, a list or a quote.
  • A photo. One photo and a headline become a slow push-in.
  • A carousel. The slides are shown whole and swiped through one by one.
  • A design. An image you made with the Image Generator works like any other image in the post, and a design saved in My Content can be turned into a video from there.
  • Two images. A before and after wipes from one to the other.
  • Your real product or app. Start from a product in your Brand Kit. A physical product's photos are the scenes, cut out and placed on your brand background, never redrawn. A website, app or software's screenshots go in exactly as they are. The words start as the name, description and price you typed, and they are yours to change.

Want to try it on a handful of photos first? The free photos to video, carousel to video and TikTok slideshow maker tools run the same engine with no account, on up to 20 photos.

Enhance with AI for your words

Start from a few words and press Enhance with AI. It writes a hook, up to three short lines and a call to action in your Brand Kit's voice, and suggests a style, a look and music that fit. The words open in the same box, so you can edit anything, and Undo puts back exactly what you typed. The suggested style, look and music are only applied when you choose Use these. It is free and does not use up your monthly generations.

Six styles, captions and your Brand Kit

  • Push-in. One photo or graphic and a headline.
  • Swipe. A carousel, slide by slide.
  • Kinetic. A post led by its words.
  • List reveal. Tips, steps and "5 ways" posts.
  • Quote. A testimonial or a quote.
  • Before/after. Two images to compare.

Each style comes in two looks, Calm and Punchy: the same motion, slower or with harder cuts. Captions come in four styles: clean, boxed, highlight and lower third. Your Brand Kit colours, fonts and logo are used on every scene, and an optional end card carries your logo, your call to action and your handle.

A timeline, sound and a quick preview

The editor shows your scenes on a timeline. Drag a scene to move it, drag its edge to change how long it stays, choose how one scene hands over to the next, duplicate or delete a scene, or rewrite a line with Enhance with AI. Every change can be undone.

The preview starts playing as soon as it is ready and loops until you pause it, large and with the music you chose, with speed and the keys J, K and L. Captions can be smaller or larger, in the middle of the frame or at the top, and in your accent colour where it reads.

Pick from 14 music tracks we make ourselves (calm, upbeat, lo-fi, corporate, cinematic and more), so they are yours to use on every network with no claims on your video, or upload your own music: only upload music you have the rights to use. The music has its own volume and fade-out in Chrome, Edge and Safari; in other browsers the music goes in as it is.

Three shapes, and a TikTok copy

  • 9:16, 1080 x 1920 pixels, for Reels, TikTok and Shorts.
  • 4:5, 1080 x 1350 pixels, for feed posts.
  • 1:1, 1080 x 1080 pixels, for square posts.

The shape starts from where the post is going: 9:16 when it goes to Reels, TikTok or Shorts, and you can change it. If you add an end card and TikTok is one of the networks, TikTok gets its own copy without the card, because TikTok does not take added branding. The others keep the card.

Made in your browser, checked before it is attached

Your device renders the video. When it finishes, the render checks the length, the frame count, the size and the format before the video is added to the post, and renders once more if a check fails, so a broken file is caught here and not at Publish.

It needs a browser that can encode video, which current Chrome, Edge and Safari can. If yours cannot, the panel says: “This browser cannot make videos. Open Content Drifter in Chrome, Edge or Safari on a computer.” Nothing is lost, and the post stays a draft.

Where the video goes

TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn, Threads, Bluesky and Pinterest: the eight networks that take video from us. A post is either a video or images, never both: the video replaces the pictures it was made from (they stay in My Content, and Undo brings them back). You can switch any network to text only, and the panel says in one line which networks get the video and which post the text only. X and Google Business Profile are not among them, so their posts go out as text only.

TikTok videos are delivered to your TikTok inbox as a draft, and the confirmation says: "Sent to your TikTok inbox. Open TikTok to add a sound, set who can see it, and post." Reels and Shorts go out from Content Drifter itself.

The limits each network checks, such as length and file size, are the ones on the social media limits page, and our multi-platform publishing checks each post against them before it goes.

Who gets it

Making videos is on Lite ($15/mo) and every plan above it. A made video is kept in your media library, which is the only meter on it: there is no separate video quota to track. The free days every new account starts with (3 days free) includes it.

Choose your plan to turn your posts into videos, or start with your 3 days free.

What it does not do

  • It does not generate AI video clips. Every scene is built from your own words, photos and designs.
  • It does not cut or edit footage you filmed, and it does not add voice-over.
  • It does not post TikTok photo-mode posts yet: TikTok gets a video.
  • It does not publish video to X or Google Business Profile.
  • It is not a clipper that cuts highlights out of a long recording. The repurposing engine writes posts from a link instead.
FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What does the AI Video Maker do?

It turns the post you already made into a vertical video. Pick a style (six to choose from, such as a slow push-in on a photo or a swipe through a carousel), choose captions and a shape, and the video is built from your own words, photos and Brand Kit. You make it on the Video screen of your dashboard, from your words, a post, your pictures or a product or app in your Brand Kit, or from any post in AI Post Maker, so the same post can go out as a video where a network wants one. A product video places your real product, cut out and never redrawn, as each scene, and an app or website video shows your screenshots exactly as they are.

Which plan includes making a video?

Making a video in Content Drifter is on Lite and up; the Free plan does not include making videos. The free days every new account starts with (3 days free) does include it. If you only need a video from a few photos, the free tools on our site make one with no account at all.

Which networks does the video publish to?

TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn, Threads, Bluesky and Pinterest. That is every network we publish to that takes video from us, and you can switch any of them to text only. A post is either a video or images, never both. X and Google Business Profile are not among them: their posts go out as text only.

Is the video made on your servers or in my browser?

In your browser. Your device renders the video, and the render checks its length, frame count, size and format before the video is added to the post, so a broken file is caught before it is attached. A browser that cannot make video says so plainly (This browser cannot make videos. Open Content Drifter in Chrome, Edge or Safari on a computer.) and nothing is lost.

What size is the video?

The vertical version is 1080 x 1920 pixels, 9:16, for Reels, TikTok and Shorts. You can also make a 4:5 version for feed posts or a 1:1 square. If you add an end card, TikTok gets its own copy without it, because TikTok does not take added branding.

Does it make AI video clips or edit my footage?

No. It turns what you already have, your words, photos, slides and designs, into a video with motion, captions and your Brand Kit. It does not generate AI video clips, cut footage you filmed, or add voice-over.
