To make a TikTok slideshow from photos, add them in order and press Make my video. The tool makes a vertical 1080 x 1920 MP4 in your browser, free, with no account and no watermark, and you upload it to TikTok like any other video. It makes a video slideshow, not a TikTok photo-mode post, and your photos never leave your device.
Loading the video tool. It makes the video in your browser, and nothing is uploaded.
How to make a TikTok slideshow
Add your photos
Up to 20 photos in JPEG, PNG, WebP or HEIC, in the order they should appear. Each one fills the frame.
Add a title if you want one
A one-line title opens the video over a plain background. Leave it empty to start straight on your first photo.
Press Make my video
Each photo holds for 1 to 3 seconds and swipes to the next, up to 60 seconds in all (30 on a phone).
Post it on TikTok
Download the MP4 and upload it in the TikTok app, or use "Schedule it to TikTok, Reels and Shorts" to carry the photos into Content Drifter and schedule it there.
TikTok photo mode or a video slideshow?
TikTok has two formats that look alike in the feed. Photo mode posts the photos themselves as a swipeable set. A video slideshow is a normal video that happens to be made of photos. This tool makes the second kind, and Content Drifter schedules TikTok video posts: TikTok photo-mode posts are not something we publish yet. The limits below are TikTok's, as we record them.
| Detail | Photo mode | Video slideshow |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | A set of photos people swipe through, with no video file | One video that plays on its own, one photo after another |
| How many | 1 to 35 photos | 3 seconds to 3 minutes of video |
| File type | JPEG and WebP, 20 MB each | MP4 or MOV, up to 4 GB |
| Pace | The viewer swipes at their own speed | You set it: each photo is held for 1 to 3 seconds here |
| Made by this tool | No | Yes |
The TikTok photo mode guide has the full limits, what to check when a photo post will not go through, and how to choose between the two.
What happens when Content Drifter sends it to TikTok
TikTok videos are delivered to your TikTok inbox as a draft, and the confirmation says: "Sent to your TikTok inbox. Open TikTok to add a sound, set who can see it, and post." So the video arrives on time and you finish it in the app. Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts are different: they publish straight from Content Drifter.
Limits and what goes wrong
- More photos than fit
- A video here takes up to 20 photos, fewer on a phone, so a long slideshow is cut to the first photos and the page says how many were used. Photo mode takes more (35), but it is a different format.
- Photos of different shapes
- Every photo fills the 9:16 frame, cropped around the upper middle of the picture. A wide photo loses its sides.
- iPhone HEIC photos
- They open in Safari straight away and through a small converter elsewhere. A file that cannot be read is skipped with a message.
- A browser that cannot make video
- The page shows "This browser cannot make videos. Open Content Drifter in Chrome, Edge or Safari on a computer." and still lays your photos out as a storyboard of the video.
Frequently asked questions
How do I make a TikTok slideshow from photos?
Add your photos in the order you want, press Make my video, and download the 9:16 MP4. Upload it in TikTok like any other video. It plays as a slideshow: one photo after another, each held for 1 to 3 seconds, with a swipe between them.
Is this TikTok photo mode?
No. TikTok's photo mode posts photos as a swipeable set with no video file. This tool makes a video: your photos, one after another, as an MP4. TikTok treats it as an ordinary video post. Content Drifter schedules TikTok video posts, and TikTok photo-mode posts are not something we publish yet.
What is the difference between a TikTok photo post and a video slideshow?
A photo post is up to 35 photos in JPEG and WebP, 20 MB each, that people swipe through at their own pace. A video slideshow is one MP4 or MOV video of 3 seconds to 3 minutes that plays on its own, so you set the pace and can open it with a title card.
How many photos can I use?
Up to 20 photos and 60 seconds, or 30 seconds on a phone. That is fewer photos than TikTok's photo mode takes (35), because here every photo becomes a moment in a video and the video has a length. A single photo makes a 3 second video, and TikTok takes nothing under 3 seconds.
Do my photos leave my device?
No. Your photos are read, resized and turned into a video inside your browser, and nothing is uploaded or stored. The one thing that leaves your device is an optional title: if you type one, that single line of text is typeset on our server and sent straight back, and we do not keep it. If you leave the page while the video is being made, the video is gone.
Can I schedule the slideshow to TikTok?
Yes, as a video. After you make it, "Schedule it to TikTok, Reels and Shorts" opens a free sign-up and brings your photos into AI Post Maker with the video ready. TikTok videos are delivered to your TikTok inbox as a draft, and the confirmation says: "Sent to your TikTok inbox. Open TikTok to add a sound, set who can see it, and post." You can also just download the MP4 and upload it in TikTok yourself. It is free, with no account and no watermark.
