Best time to post

Best Time to Post on Pinterest (2026)

No two of the three Pinterest studies agree on the hour (Sprout Social to mornings, Hootsuite to afternoons, and CoSchedule to evenings), and Tailwind’s study of over 1.2 million Pins found no generic best time at all.

Hootsuite says your keywords and SEO matter more than the hour you post, so work on those first, then test two or three of these windows for two weeks and keep the ones your own results prove.

Studies last checked October 14, 2026: three publishers report Pinterest. Every figure below links to the page it came from.

Convert the studies to your timezone

Pick where your audience is and the clock you schedule in. Every window below is something a named publisher printed; the converter only moves it between time zones and counts how many studies agree. It is not our data and it is not a prediction for your account.

Hours are shown as the studies print them, which for most is local time where the audience is. Pick a different place above to convert.

Most agreement: Mon 10 a.m., Tue 12 p.m., Wed 10 a.m., each named by 2 of 2 studies.

Where the Pinterest studies agree and where they split

  • Days named most: Tuesday and Friday (3 of 3 each) and Thursday (2 of 3).
  • Hours: Sprout Social leans to mornings, Hootsuite leans to afternoons, and CoSchedule leans to evenings.
  • No study ranks a weekend day among its best.

Each study is placed by the part of the day that holds most of the hours it names across the week. For the reasons the numbers differ, and the pages we did not count, see how we read the studies.

What the studies say about Pinterest specifically

  • Sprout Social’s windows are weekday daytime: for example Tuesday 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Wednesday 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., with weekends worst. (Sprout Social)
  • Hootsuite names noon on Tuesdays and Fridays and, day by day, runs from 10 a.m. on Monday to 6 p.m. on Thursday and 4 p.m. on Sunday. It adds that your keyword and SEO strategy matters more than the hour you post. (Hootsuite)
  • CoSchedule ranks Friday, Tuesday and Thursday and puts the top hours in the evening: 9 p.m., 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. (CoSchedule)
  • Tailwind studied over 1.2 million Pins from over 17,000 accounts and says the best time to pin is not the same for every account. It warns its sample leans toward English-speaking, mostly ecommerce and small-business accounts that use Tailwind. (Tailwind)
  • Pinterest’s own audience insights describe your followers’ interests and demographics for the last 30 days. The article does not describe a view of when they are active. (Pinterest Help: Audience insights)

Find your own best time on Pinterest

Your followers are the only sample that matters for your account, and the network already holds it.

  1. Open Analytics, then Audience insights, to see your audience’s interests and demographics for the last 30 days.
  2. Open the Analytics overview and compare your Pins by publish date on impressions, saves and outbound clicks.
  3. Compare Pins that went out at different times over several weeks rather than days.

What our scheduler uses for Pinterest, and where it comes from

For Pinterest, the table’s three slots for a general account in North America are Tuesday 9 p.m., Thursday 8 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m., in your account’s timezone. The table is a file in our code whose header credits Sprout Social, Hootsuite and Buffer research from 2024 and 2025; the scheduler does not read the studies above, and its scores only rank the slots against each other.

On Pro and up, the scheduler also re-ranks those slots from your own last 30 days of results once a network has at least 7 measured posts.

The full account, including what it needs before it learns anything from your posts, is on the best time to post hub. Niche-by-niche slots are on the Pinterest scheduling page.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best time to post on Pinterest?

There is no agreed time. Sprout Social leans to mornings, Hootsuite leans to afternoons, and CoSchedule leans to evenings. Tailwind, which studied over 1.2 million Pins, found no generic best time and says the right time differs by account. Hootsuite says your keyword and SEO strategy matters more than the hour you post.

What is the best day to post on Pinterest?

Tuesday and Friday are each named by 3 of the 3 studies that rank days, with Thursday next (2). Sprout Social ranks weekends worst. Tailwind publishes no best day.

Does posting time matter on Pinterest?

Possibly less than you would expect. Tailwind found no generic best time across its sample of over 1.2 million Pins, and Hootsuite puts your keyword and SEO strategy ahead of timing. Compare Pins that went out at different times over several weeks rather than days before you move your schedule.

Do these times use my timezone?

Sprout Social and Hootsuite read every hour as local time where the audience is, and CoSchedule’s page is inconsistent about it. Use the converter to see them on your own clock; the largest Pinterest study, Tailwind’s, reports no hours to convert.

How do I find when my Pinterest audience is active?

Pinterest’s Audience insights article describes your audience’s interests and demographics for the last 30 days, not the hours they are active. Use the Analytics overview to compare your Pins by publish date on impressions, saves and outbound clicks over a few weeks.

How does Content Drifter pick Pinterest posting times?

Its default Pinterest slots for a general account in North America are Tuesday 9 p.m., Thursday 8 p.m., and Saturday 9 a.m., in your account’s timezone. The studies above disagree and Tailwind found no generic time, so treat these slots as a placeholder; the table is credited to 2024 and 2025 research.
