Best time to post

Best Time to Post on Threads (2026)

The three Threads studies all point to the middle of the week: Tuesday and Wednesday are each named by 2 of the 3, with weekday hours from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Buffer’s 2.5 million posts putting Thursday at 9 a.m. first and evenings last.

Threads is young and its studies are few, so use these windows to choose your first two weeks of slots, then keep the ones your own results prove.

Studies last checked October 14, 2026: three publishers report Threads. Every figure below links to the page it came from.

Convert the studies to your timezone

Pick where your audience is and the clock you schedule in. Every window below is something a named publisher printed; the converter only moves it between time zones and counts how many studies agree. It is not our data and it is not a prediction for your account.

Hours are shown as the studies print them, which for most is local time where the audience is. Pick a different place above to convert. SocialPilot’s LinkedIn, X and Threads pages are written in US Eastern time, so those are converted from there whatever you pick.

Most agreement: Mon 9 a.m., each named by 3 of 3 studies.

Where the Threads studies agree and where they split

  • Days named most: Tuesday and Wednesday (2 of 3 each) and Thursday (1 of 3).
  • Hours: Buffer leans to mornings and Hootsuite and SocialPilot lean to afternoons.
  • No study ranks a weekend day among its best.

Each study is placed by the part of the day that holds most of the hours it names across the week. For the reasons the numbers differ, and the pages we did not count, see how we read the studies.

What the studies say about Threads specifically

  • Buffer’s 2.5 million posts make Thursday at 9 a.m. the best slot, then Wednesday at 12 p.m. and 9 a.m., with Wednesday the best day overall, evenings from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. weak on every day and Saturday the lowest. (Buffer)
  • Hootsuite names 8 a.m. on Tuesdays and, day by day, 9 a.m. on Monday and Thursday, noon on Wednesday and Saturday, 2 p.m. on Friday and 1 p.m. on Sunday. (Hootsuite)
  • SocialPilot’s hours are US Eastern time: Wednesday 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 4 p.m., and Tuesday 8 a.m., 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Its page also gives a Wednesday headline window that does not match its own Wednesday list. (SocialPilot)

Find your own best time on Threads

Your followers are the only sample that matters for your account, and the network already holds it.

  1. Open Threads insights: tap the icon at the top left of your profile on mobile, or go to threads.com/insights on the web.
  2. Open Views for views over time and where they came from, and Interactions for likes, replies, reposts and quotes.
  3. Keep your own log of publish hours and compare them against views.
  4. If your Threads audience overlaps your Instagram followers, SocialPilot suggests reading Instagram’s Most active times as a proxy.

SocialPilot says Threads’ own analytics need an account past 100 followers. Threads’ announcement describes views, interactions, followers and top content, and we could not confirm an hour-by-hour followers chart.

What our scheduler uses for Threads, and where it comes from

For Threads, the table’s three slots for a general account in North America are Tuesday 10 a.m., Wednesday 11 a.m. and Thursday 9 a.m., in your account’s timezone. The table is a file in our code whose header credits Sprout Social, Hootsuite and Buffer research from 2024 and 2025; the scheduler does not read the studies above, and its scores only rank the slots against each other.

On Pro and up, the scheduler also re-ranks those slots from your own last 30 days of results once a network has at least 7 measured posts.

The full account, including what it needs before it learns anything from your posts, is on the best time to post hub. Niche-by-niche slots are on the Threads scheduling page.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best time to post on Threads?

Weekday mornings and midday. Buffer’s 2.5 million posts name Thursday at 9 a.m. as the best slot and Wednesday at 12 p.m. next. Hootsuite names Tuesday at 8 a.m., and SocialPilot (US Eastern time) lists Wednesday 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. Only three studies cover Threads, so test before you commit.

What is the best day to post on Threads?

Tuesday and Wednesday are each named by 2 of the three studies that rank days. Buffer ranks Wednesday first, then Thursday and Tuesday, and Saturday lowest with Sunday second lowest.

Are evenings bad for Threads?

In Buffer’s data, yes: 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. underperformed on every day of the week. The other two studies list no evening slots on weekdays, apart from a Sunday evening in SocialPilot’s list.

Do these times use my timezone?

Buffer and Hootsuite read every hour as local time where the audience is. SocialPilot’s Threads hours are US Eastern time, so convert them if your audience is elsewhere. The converter does both.

How do I see my own Threads insights?

On mobile, tap the icon at the top left of your profile; on the web, go to threads.com/insights. Views shows views over time and where they came from, and Interactions shows likes, replies, reposts and quotes. Keep a log of your publish hours to compare against it.

How does Content Drifter pick Threads posting times?

Its default Threads slots for a general account in North America are Tuesday 10 a.m., Wednesday 11 a.m., and Thursday 9 a.m., in your account’s timezone, from our table, which is credited to 2024 and 2025 research; the scheduler does not read the Threads studies above.
